Kate Winslet is recounting a story about a “wonderful” meeting she recently experienced with someone from her iconic blockbuster film “Titanic.”

This week, the Academy Award recipient appeared on “The Graham Norton Show,” where she talked about her latest movie “Lee,” in which she portrays the fashion model and war photographer Lee Miller from the World War II period.

Winslet shared that although she had taken on the role of executive producer for several of her past projects, “Lee” marked the first time she acted as a complete producer. This role demanded her engagement from the very start to the finish, including during the scoring process in post-production.

She conveyed to Norton that during her visit to the recording of the film’s score in London, as she observed the 120-piece orchestra, she spotted someone who seemed very recognizable to her.

“I’m observing this violinist and thought, ‘I recognize that face!’” she mentioned.

At one moment, fellow musicians in the orchestra gestured towards him, silently saying, “It’s him!” which left Winslet feeling unsettled and led her to question, “Could I be connected to this individual? Who might he be?”

At the conclusion of the day, the star of “Reader” approached the orchestra area to meet the enigmatic violinist. She was thrilled to discover that he was one of the musicians who performed on the doomed Titanic as it went down in James Cameron’s iconic 1997 movie.

“This is the person!” Winslet stated this week, further remarking, “it was truly delightful” to reunite with him.

“There were countless instances in the film where individuals I’ve either collaborated with previously or have known for a significant period, having grown together in the industry, surprised me by their presence, and it was truly amazing.”

“Lee” premiered in cinemas in late September and can be rented or purchased on AppleTV+ or Amazon Prime.
